Abstract
The article discusses the first results of a pharmacoeconomic analysis of the efficacy of using the Pneumococcal conjugated 7-valent vaccine (PCV7) for immunization of children aged 2 months to 5 years in Russia using techniques for modeling various approaches to cohort immunization. It shows clinical and economic efficacy of implementing routine immunization in children during first 5 years against pneumococcal infection using PCV7 given direct and indirect costs. It justifies the expediency of incorporating vaccination against pneumococcal infection in children aged 2 months up into the Russian National Immunization Schedule.

Abstract
Cervical cancer is one of the main causes of death in the patients with malignant tumors. Over 40% of cases involving this pathology are diagnosed at advanced stages. The etiological agent causing the development of cervical cancer is the persistence of Human papillomavirus (HPV) strains with high oncogenic risk. Currently the only available method of preventing HPV-caused diseases is vaccination. The article describes the results of Phase III multi-site doubt blind randomized research into the efficacy of vaccine against HPV (PATRICIA — Papilloma Trial against Cancer in young Adults), involving over 18,000 women aged 15 to 25 years from 14 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin and North Americas.

Abstract
The article highlights the issue of preventing frequent acute respiratory infections in pre-school children attending day-care institutions who make up a large group of sick children with long-term conditions, according to the study results. Key bacterial causative agents of infection and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system and ENT organs in this category of children are S. рneumoniae and Н. influenzae. Being an economically viable procedure, prevention of an infection caused by Н. Influenzae type B results in a dramatic decrease in the incidence of acute respiratory infections and severity of the infection process.

Abstract
The article assesses the efficiency of using medications in children in a outpatient administration setting on the model of antipyretics as medications of first choice in treatment of acute respiratory virus infections over 2004–2008. It looks at the awareness of the patients’ legal representatives in issues of using anti febriles. It shows the efficacy of incorporating a clinical pharmacology unit into the outpatient pediatric practice.

Abstract
The article describes data from research into the role of fetal virus infections in shaping atopic status in newborn infants subject to the degree of newborn maturation and hereditary taint for allergic diseases. The study of 159 babies during first month of their life showed that erythema toxicum in newborn infants, allergic eruptions, skin dryness and hyperemia are found reliably more frequently in newborn infants with confirmed fetal infection, especially in the combination with tainted medical history of past allergies. By the end of first month, the groups of children with fetal infection have a significantly increased immunoglobulin E in blood serum.

Abstract
The article provides the authors’ proprietary data on the epidemiology of allergic rhinitis, as well as the results of assessing the adequacy of existing approaches to diagnostics, monitoring and treatment of children in Volgograd. A retrospective descriptive research was conducted using the data of 330 outpatient medical records of children aged 1 to 16 years diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. Analysis was made of the age at which the disease was verified, the diagnosis formulation, family medical history, related allergic diseases, therapeutic and diagnostic tactics. It was found that an average of 5,5 years elapse from the time the symptoms are identified to the time a diagnosis is made. 21% of children have first symptoms of the disease already at an early age (prior to 3 years). 71% of children had it in combination with other allergic diseases. Second-generation antihistamines are now increasingly used for treatment of allergic rhinitis, while intranasal corticosteroids are still not used frequently enough.

Abstract
The effect of contrast media used for intravenous pyelography onto intracellular energy cycle ensymes was investigated. All types of nonionic contrast media inhibited succinatdehydrogenase and alfa-glycerophosphatdehydrogenase. This inhibition was less pronounced with Iodixanol injection. The way to prevent this metabolic changes is proposed and tested.

Abstract
In a broad range of respiratory viruses the respiratory syncytial (RS) virus has a special place due to the diversity and severity of clinical manifestations of the disease in infants it causes. RS infection remains thus far a major medical and social issue causing high prevalence, needs for hospitalizations and mortality in risk groups of children. The modern program for prevention and treatment of RS infection is not yet efficient enough, however, significant progress has been made over the past decade with a new class of medications that have emerged and provides reliable protection against severe forms of RS virus infection. The article provides an overview of priority areas in the study of this issue, including the analysis of risk factors for a severe course of RS virus infection, developments in the molecular diagnostics in virology, optimization of bronchiolitis treatment and prevention of severe forms and unfavorable RS infection outcomes.

The article describes the results of research of the role of gastro colic omentum in developing an intraperitoneal inflammatory focus. Acute recurrent omentitis cases are systematized by degree of tissue inflammatory alterations in gastro colic omentum and the video laparoscopic semiotics of omentitis stages. The authors offer and justify an original differentiated laparoscopic tactics in line with the morphological state of gastro colic omentum’s tissue. It shows the impact of various surgical tactics on the quality of post-operation progress.

Abstract
The article showcases the efficacy of taking iodine medications during pregnancy and galactosis to prevent iodine deficiency and related complications in newborn infants. Determination of the level of protein oxidation products (derivatives of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine) in saliva based on the study results proved promising as a non-invasive method of diagnosing iodine deficiency conditions. In addition, the authors has demonstrated that the degree to which the level of the stated compounds in saliva is correlated not only with the manifestation of iodine deficiency, but also with the severity of damage to the central nervous system.

The article presents the results of clinical research to study the efficiency and portability of polivita-min complex in children with allergic diseases. Research found that inclusion in the complex treatment polivitamin complex studied in children allowed to raise the efficiency pathogenetic therapy helped correct the symptoms of hypo vitaminosis. A good test of the drug and no adverse reactions in children allowed to recommend it as the drug of choice in children with allergic diseases.

Abstract
The article provides information on the efficacy of a multivitamin complex enriched with calcium and magnesium in children with orthopedic pathology. It highlights that incorporating a multivitamin complex into the course of rehabilitation treatment for children with various types of faults in posture and platy podia dramatically enhances the efficacy of therapy. The children who were administered the preparation had significantly improved parameters of endurance under exercise stress conditions in comparison with similar parameters in children, whose course of rehabilitation treatment did not include the multivitamin complex. The control study of the feet planta’s status using the computerized system in children from the main group where the preparation was administered, found improved podo scopy parameters by 65% compared with the benchmark group where subjects did not received the multivitamin complex.
